#Childnotbride - Stories of Early Marriages, Pregnancy and VVF

Posted in: , ,

The #childnotbride campaign should not tied to the irrelevant section 29 of the constitution but any activism to stop marriage before the age of majority, which is 18 according to the Child Right Act is a worthy cause. Like Atala pointed out, if the spark of the amendment changes is what will fire up the debate and gear the people into action, then this may just be the time.

Stephanie Okereke has just released the unofficial trailer to her movie, Dry. The movie tells of the pain, and loss of childhood that can be the lot of a girl child married before she is physically and mentally ready.

Idris Elba's Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom - Trailer

Posted in:

You've seen the posters, now the trailer is out! And it is as moving as it is action packed. Makes me want to see the movie right this instant. Idris Elba will almost certainly be getting several nominations for his role as Mandela in this movie, including maybe at the Oscars. Just the trailer alone shows you a lot, and the sound and score is amazing, with that K'Nan song "Waving Flag".

How To Make Easy Akara From Beans Flour - Convenience Cooking

Posted in: , , ,

Someone asked why I used frozen spinach in my last gizzard sauce. Anyone who's been paying attention to these food recipes would have recognized that I'm what some people may describe as a convenience cook. My mum laughs at me and calls me mademoiselle in the kitchen because I don't like to get dirty. Yes, I cook with an apron most times. More importantly, I like all the ingredients I cook with to be almost ready.

Funke Akindele Denies SMS And Confirms Split From Kehinde Oloyede

A marriage breakup is never a laughing matter in my books, and any woman who is courageous enough to leave an unhealthy marriage is only to be supported. But it's almost funny the strange manner in which Kehinde Oloyede, Funke's PR people and the news breakers and journalists managed to make it more of a media and public frenzy than it should have been.

In a deeply personal and evocative statement, President Barack Obama shared his feelings today about the George Zimmerman trial, Trayvon Martin and race relations in America.
