The Cote d’Azur, or the French Riviera as many people know, is a dreamy region in France extending east along the coastal region from Monaco and Menton all the way to Theoule sur Mer, and the Southern Alps. The French Riviera comprises of various cities -- one of them being Cannes -- medieval villages, French Riviera mansions, Roman ruins, and 14 natural parks. You are guaranteed to have a great time exploring the region, and watching the whales along the coastline.

1. Relaxation on the Mediterranean Coastline

This is the one place on earth where you can choose to do absolutely nothing all day, but still have a great time relaxing around the beach, and watching passersby while enjoying the various cold drinks on offer. You could even choose to spend some time away from the beach to visit the various spas scattered around Cannes. Cannes is the place to go if you want to enjoy a relaxing body massage.

2. Water Adventures

The Riviera is loved by global starlets and celebrities due to its wide array of yachts, and yachts enthusiasts. If you would like to spend some time on one, all you have to do is make a reservation with one of the numerous yacht companies and get to visit various ports, e.g., Monaco, Nice, and Cannes. Here, you will get to see some of the biggest yachts in the world, one of them being the largest mega yacht ever built, and often located in the Port of Antibes.

3. Summer Festivals

Another highlight of the summer season in the French Riviera is the Cannes Yachting Festival. The festival this year will held between the sixth and eleventh of September. It is an event that attracts more than forty thousand yacht fans from all around Europe, and features more than five hundred vessels on display. If looking to attend the festival, you should make your way to Port Pierre Canto or Cannes’ Vieux Port. It does not matter whether you are just looking to view the yachts on display, purchase one, or are just a seasoned sailor looking to view some of the biggest vessels in the world, if you are in the Riviera, this is one event you cannot afford to miss.

4. Monte Carlo

You can expect to see the likes of the latest Bentleys, Ferraris, and Lamborghini’s. The cars are displayed in large volumes and you can surely expect to have a great time checking each one out.

6. The Food

The regions surrounding the Riviera normally have unique food that has been specialized for the city. These includes the nicoise food, anchovies, and other fillings. It is a place that has something for each person, regardless of whether you have special diet restrictions or are searching for the perfect steak. And of course, you cannot miss to enjoy the French boulangeries that are scattered all over the region. Head there this summer and get to enjoy all the delicious food (don’t forget about the seafood) that you have ever dreamt of.

7. The Views

The views in The French Riviera are unrivalled. It is the place to go if you want to see the truly captivating, and colored Mediterranean Sea, take in the authentic and vibrant French architecture, and of course get to view the numerous French mansions you have probably heard or read a lot about. The beaches have everything you would need to access in a single location from sun loungers, bars serving a wide array of cocktails to restaurants with menus filled with all kinds of French, and international cuisines. It is one of the primary reasons why this area has so many visitors from across the globe each summer.
