Incredible Moment Funeral Workers Realize 'Dead' Ebola Victim Was Still Alive [Photos]

Posted in: , ,

An ABC News reporter, Dr Richard Besser, witnessed a man who was thought to be dead found to be alive after his body was about to be taken away to a crematorium to be burnt and disposed.

The reporter had been speaking to the camera about the funeral workers and their work when they realized the man was moving. The journalist immediately began to report on the unfolding miracle.

"He is not dead. They were wrapping him away but he is alive. He is moving his arm. They almost took him away to the crematorium and they noticed he was moving his arm."

The unnamed man was lying in the middle of a street in Liberia's capital Monrovia when a team of workers began to wrap up his body.

He had been reported to the authorities to have been dying from the virus for several days and it is claimed ambulance workers refused to treat him until he finally died.

But after realising that the man was still alive, many of the people in the street had to plead that he was taken to hospital.

Eventually, the health workers called an ambulance to the scene and the man was taken to hospital. This happened earlier this week, and the man's current situation is unknown.
