Bill Gates Bathes Himself In Ice Water After Mark Zuckerberg Passes On ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Posted in: , , , ,

Bill Gates happily did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge after Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg - the first Billionaire to pour ice water on his head for the charity - passed it on to him, LOL...

Everyone gets to challenge three people to do the ice shower, and Bill Gates has named Elon Musk, TED curator Chris Anderson, and Ryan Seacrest of E!
.
The NBA got in on the action when Basketballer, Stephen Curry got his teammates to join him in accepting the challenge, and then he passed it on to Barack Obama, Oprah, and NBA commissioner Adam Silver. I know I want to see Oprah do this.

If this is the first time you're hearing about this, the challenge is to douse yourself in a bucket of ice in helping bring awareness and charitable donations to research toward stopping ALS. You accept the challenge or you decline and donate money.

The way it works is simple: someone who has soaked themselves challenges others to follow suit. If they don't do so within 24 hours, they must donate to a charity of their choosing. Frequently, people choose to both soak and donate.

Once you accept the challenge, you then nominate any of your friends or peers to do the challenge. And because each participant challenges a new group of people, it's easy to understand how the trend is going viral.

ALS, or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that attacks the brain and spinal cord. You can find more information about ALS, and donate to the ALS Association here.
