Will You Accept For Your Man to Cheat Because You're Celibate?

Posted in: , , ,

So, Nick Carey and Mariah Carey Waited To Get Married Before Sex. Back in December, Nick Cannon told Howard Stern that he and Carey, 40, didn't have sex until they were officially married, candidly revealing on Stern's radio show, "It was Mariah Carey. If Mariah Carey gave a bad blowjob, I'm still going in ... Either way she's still one of the most beautiful women that ever walked the planet."

But there was something he said that got my eyebrows snapping up, he said there were other girls he was going with at the same time he was talking with and probably dating Mariah Carey. The sense was he was having sex with the other women, while Mariah Carey had her standards and kept him at arms length in the physical sense.

Now, I don't know if she was aware of the other women he was sleeping with or not, or even whether she was OK with him being with them. Like he pointed out also, their kindof long distance relationship seemed to be part of the reason they were able to pull off the no-sex bit.

But beyond Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, my question is, If you choose to be celibate, and your boyfriend or fiance is not so cool with that, will you permit him to have other women he's physically intimate with? That is if he asks you outright. For the men who do not ask but you later find out after the fact, will you overlook or forgive them?

  1. I think should be both parties choosing to be celibate...and not one of the them....

  2. If he didn't specifically say he was sleeping with others, it's wrong to assume. I've known many couples who both were celibate before marriage, people do it.

  3. I want to read the comments on this one so I'm going to come back later

  4. He actually said it in the video, so watch it first before you talk.

  5. i don't think women should entertain it cos if i now decide to start having sex with him what"s the guarantee that he will stop sleeping with the other women? After all i allowed it in the beginning. we will be celibate together!!!!

  6. I have a friend who says this works for her. She's been dating this guy for 5yrs and they plan to get married in the next two years after her NYSC and she knows he's been seeing some side chicks. Her own is that he respects her and allows her keep her conscience clean. She prays for him and believes his cheating will stop once they get married. I think one part of her knows it may continue but she don't care as long as she had the ring, the mrs title and her children.

  7. To answer the question NO because that defeats the purpose.

Now I have seen it happen where the girl is saving her virginity and allows the guy to sleep around and there is the classic celibate chic who sleeps with everyone except the one she plans to marry. I think its self delusional in both cases. If your values are that different it will only lead to a rocky marriage.

    1. Thank you Mojisola.
That's some crazy reasoning. If he now catches some disease, gets the girl pregnant, what have you achieved?
Does commitment begin only after marriage? I know each relationship is unique - so if it has worked for Mariah Carey, all good and well. Me, i will pass on this one.

  8. Ok I think Mojisola has some truths though "if your values are that different it will only lead to a rocky marriage"

  9. i wont agree for my boyfriend to be seeing other girls...ill just knock him upside his head.
