Carpe Diem - Seize The Day!

Posted in: , ,

By Gracie

Many times in life, we are always waiting on some future events, some better times or some perfect set of circumstances before we can find happiness or contentment. We always try to rush things never trying to enjoy the process or stage we are in at any point in life. Life is a process; let’s learn to take things slowly.

That situation you are going through that you can’t wait to get over it, quickly have you ever taken your time to really know what life lesson you should learn from it. We always say things like:

“I can’t wait to be 20, 30, 50, 70 years old”

“I can’t wait to be through with this school”

“I can’t wait to leave my parents’ house and be independent”

“I can’t wait to get married”

“I can’t wait to be through with this NYSC”

But really, lets realise to that we may never have the opportunity to go through that process or stage again. Let’s live life to the fullest. We might never have that opportunity to be younger or go back to an ex-school or be a corper again.

You can choose to be happy now no matter the circumstances nor the situation. Your happiness should never be tied to what’s going on around you but what is going on within you. As Robert Hastings said “the true joy of life is the trip not the station”

In conclusion as a girl who was dying from cancer and had just 6 months to live wrote in her poem “slow dance”; “when you run so fast to get somewhere, you miss half of the fun of getting there. When you hurry and worry through your day, it’s like an unopened gift… thrown away. Life is a not a race, do take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over”.

Psalms 118:24; “this is the day which the lord hath made: we will rejoice and be glad in it”.

REMAIN BLESSED

P.s: Nobody should ask me when am getting married. Am enjoying my singleness to the fullest….lol!

God’s time is the best.
