It's so sweet that Mercy Johnson is still gushing about love in her marriage, and how she is enjoying being a new mother. She seems to be keeping it real too, and her transition to motherhood has made her more down to earth and encouraged her to give to others who may not be as privileged. In a recent interview, she talks about the things close to her heart right now;

Real Housewives' Nene Leakes Remarries Her Husband Gregg

Posted in: , ,

Nene Leakes is someone I had previously seen more of in the NBC comedy The New Normal, but I also knew she came to fame as being on the cast of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. During our last vacation, I got to watch several episodes of the RHOA reunion. One of story strands was that Nene had just got engaged to her husband, Gregg Leakes, whom she had divorced after they had some issues, and they would be walking down the aisle again soon.

I just checked the producer, Moses Inwang's body of work on IrokoTV and I've seen Behind the Melody and Damage. I loved the message and story line in BTM with Ini Edo much better but both movies are well shot and lack the spare tyres that drag down a lot of Nollywood movies.

Only A Douchebag Wants Just Your Waist - On Iyanya and Yvonne Nelson

Posted in: , , ,

What do you do when all a man you have fallen in love with wants from you is your waist? That was the dilemma the sender of one of the last Dear Myne posts found herself in. A lot of the comments told her to either tell the man off, or just move on. Some called any guy who wants a woman just for sex a douchebag, and I agree, somewhat.

Having The Courage To Live and Love Again

Posted in: , ,

By Gracie

In life, you may have gone through bitter and ugly relationships. Maybe you were just treated unfairly or things just didn’t work out as planned even when you gave it your all and you felt really hurt. There are also times when you had seen the handwriting on the wall, but you just hate to face the truth, giving all kind of excuses and yet things still didn’t work out.

D-Black - Black Clouds ft. Waje (Music Video Romance)

By Jove, this is the saddest music video I've seen in a long, long while. Jeez...by the half-way point you'll have goose bumps on your skin, and if you're soft-hearted, tears may even join the party. The only grouse, Waje's voice was a bit too auto-tuned. Great story, and capable rap delivery and lyrics by D-Black. Another marvelous Nigeria-Ghana collabo. See MI and Becca here.

Men Experience Domestic Violence Too - Lamentations Of A Battered Husband

By Bayo Olupohunda

I have known him for two years. He is one of those distant neighbours who had through casual interactions become a friend.  In the months that we lived together in the same neighbourhood and when we occasionally ran into one another, our conversation never went beyond the usual inquiry about the weather or the offhand question: “How is your family?”  As a casual friend and neighbour, I had observed him from a distance. He was introverted and easy-going, almost self-effacing. I knew him as someone who minded his business. He never got into trouble with anyone. That was as far as our friendship went until a year ago when I began to see him with a lady.

10 Types of Sex That May Not Be Good For You

You have women who get too much of it, not enough of it or who get it from the wrong person, ie: NOT their husbands or someone else’s husband. While it may seem to some that sex is sex and getting it can never be a bad thing, there can be a such thing as the wrong kind of sex. Think you know the difference between healthy and unhealthy sex? See if you’ve ever participated in any of the following…and if it was good or bad for you.

One Man Writes An Open Letter To Women From Men

Posted in: ,

Dear Women,

First of all, we're sorry. We're sorry that although we look like men, we often act like boys. We're not even sure what it means to be men anymore. As we grow up, we learn that to be happy is to be self-indulgent and self-centered. We try to make enough money so that we can have the right TV with the right video games in the right home. We want to date you and maybe even marry you but we are scared to focus on someone else instead of ourselves. Isn't it sad that we see committing to you as a potential threat to our happiness instead of a wonderful opportunity?

Looking Slimmer With Color Block and Illusion Dresses

I love retail therapy sometimes, but I'm not a big fan of shopping when it comes to dresses, because I lack the patience to sift through a gazillion clothes looking for just the ones that I'll like or that'll suit me. It's a hit and miss affair, but if I'm not OK with the results, I return it to the shop post haste. Most times, I do get what I find wearable.

Date Ideas - The Classic Dinner and Movie Date Combo

Posted in: ,

This weekend was a busy one for Atala and I. Saturday was all about being active, we went rock climbing in the morning and riding later in the evening. Sunday was more for chilling out. We went for the classic movie and a dinner date combo. And I have to tell you guys, if you do make this a date idea, make sure you go see the movie first.

By going to see Man of Steel first, it gave us something with which to start off our dinner conversation. And if you saw a good movie, or even one that is not so good, you can harvest topics from it all evening long!  We enjoyed teasing out the little details of the movie as we ate. Great meal at a Mexican place BTW - It was someone's birthday and an improv mariachi came out to play a tune :)

Finally, and most importantly, we were able to eat at our own pace without watching the clock for a movie time. Also, we could really enjoy the dinner and eat to our fill without worrying about getting too full and sleepy if we had chosen to see the movie after.

Which do you do, movies before or after dinner? Who saw any new movie this weekend?

7 Tips For Being A Better Husband

Posted in: , ,

By Joe Beam

Even the greatest athlete benefits from coaching. Though I realize that husbands reading this likely are already awesome, I offer these tips as a marriage coach. Use them to go from great to glorious in seven easy steps.

TIP 1: Do Not Talk To Her As If She Is One of The Guys.
Listen to guy buddies talk about anything for more than five minutes and you likely will hear one of them let the other know that he is an idiot. When men talk with their male friends, they tend to be direct or even argumentative. They share their opinions freely and bluntly. They jokingly insult each other. They blast anything the other guy says that they do not like or agree with. They rarely stop to think, “Am I being insensitive? Could I possibly be hurting his feelings?” The guy code is to let the chips fall where they may.
