How to Ensure Other Women Know Your Man is Married

Posted in: , , , ,
Malaysia and Jannero Pargo

I read about this wedding ring that imprints married on a man's finger yesterday and I wanted to know who came up with the idea. It turns out that it was Basketball Wives LA star, Malaysia Pargo who created it. For her, it was a new way to ensure that one's husband is on lock-down - the argument being that when other women see the married brand, they will keep away from him. If you ask me, any woman that even thinks about this ring as a solution to their husband's philandering should know the battle is lost already.

Malaysia was asked if her own husband, NBA Player Jannero Pargo, had one and she replied that it was his finger in picture above. Of course, she can say that, but it is probably just for the ad campaign. Would he wear it long term? I'm guessing the imprint reverts and one would have to continue to wear it.

The only real use I see for this ring is as a gag/novelty gift. You buy it so that you and your partner can laugh about it. If a couple already have trust or infidelity issues, bringing the ring into the mix may turn out to be too inflammatory. So let's not even go there. In fact, I won't be surprised if it takes off among women themselves, and we'll soon start seeing the ring's 'MARRIED' tattoo on women's fingers instead of men.

So, would any of you buy this, or wear it? What would convince you?

BTW, Atala thinks this is a completely stupid idea. :)

    1. Aaaah, where was I when you posted this? Probably can guess my response already. Absolutely barking mad for any woman or man to claim possession of or brand their significant other. Atala is right. Even when you're married, they are not your property! What a sick idea! People stay in relationships because they want to, not because they are branded with a 'married' tag.

One lady on facebook once had me laughing for days. I'd made a comment on her husband's (status) post. It was something professional o. Before I'd finished typing sef, she was on there claiming ownership as they say! She never comments on her husband's profile and only seems to do this when a female comments. Na wa o, lol.

  3. Truth is most women sneaking around with married men know they are married. So what's the use?

  4. Atala is a smart man. Its not only stupid, unless the 'wearer' and the 'wearee' are doing it for a laugh then they are both foolish! I mean, seriously! Some people have deep, deep insecurity issues.

  5. Plenty of people cheat with married men and women so the only people this will hinder are those who actually care that the person is married. Either way, if cheating is a concern for you, you shouldn't be trying to scare the potential mistresses (or the male equivalent) off, you should be trying to scare your husband/wife straight.

  7. Foolish idea. For some people, this is just the honey they need. Besides we know it doesn't work for women. I refer you to the Chris Rock joke. A man sees his friend's wife and says 'Man, I need to get me a girl like her."

A woman sees her friend's extremely fine man and says 'Man, I need to get HIM.'

Ok, so it's sexist a bit and I am sorry for that. But you get the point.

  9. Many married men cheating on their wives keep their rings on. They believe it shows they are only available for an affair, nothing more. So what's the use of the 'married' imprint?

  11. Lol...ridiculous. Like Real8 said, Most ladies that date married men know that the men are married so what are we talking about here?

Btw; your new blog look makes me feel like a 'leftie' :)(in a good way)

  12. Ring or no ring a man/woman who want to cheat will do it regardless!

  13. I agree with Atala. Lol. There's no need for this in Nigeria. The girls go after what they want ring or no ring. An imprint won't stop them so she has failed in that aspect.

  14. I think this is ludicrous, I cannot believe that a woman would be insecure enough to suggest her husband do such a thing or vice versa. If the mate feels like their spouse needs to wear it, they have other deep-rooted issues that need to be addressed, such as communication and lack of trust. If the spouse does decide to wear the ring it will not stop him/her from cheating. This is especially true in the instance of men cheating. Unfortunately, some women have no morals about them and will mess with a man even if they know he's married. It appears to add to the "excitement factor" or something. I think they just have a low self-esteem personally and need to learn to love themselves. The spouse being cheated on should find ways to address the real issues and let go of the childish games.

  15. Blessings....
Sad commentary, the truth is one can put a ring on a man's hand, in his noise, around his neck, his penis, time his going and comings, tap his phone, search his bills and smell his draws and i'D guarantee you that if he intent on screwing around he will simply because he can and chooses to.

Be secure with self and trust what you have or don't bother at all.

  16. lmao - the battle is indeed already lost. You should have faith that even though he has no branding and is ringless... your man will be just fine! Plus... who says the women are not just after him because heis married? he will be serving her husband in a very attractive package for them. lol

  17. A silly silly idea. Doesn't deter a determined chaser.

Meanwhile, I thought a married man/woman who wears the ring fairly regularly usually has that band mark. I actually caught out a married guy masquerading as a single guy, who was trying to 'toast me' because of that mark (he removed his ring when he came to see me).

  18. @ginger , I knw ! Dat silhouette is there already! What's wit d imprint ! I have caught out a guy parading himself as single too .

  19. I am sure most of you are not married! If it gives the lady peace of mind and her husband agrees to have it - as he clearly did then its fine. The husband is a basketballer and they usually get chased by women. If the ring will scare some away then I believe its worth it. I said some not all

  20. I am very sure my partner and I will not consider wearing this kind of ring. If one needs an imprint on the finger to reassure his/her partner that he/she would be faithful then there may be problems with the union already. Just my 2 cents.

  21. ARE YOU KIDDING ME....DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW THE MINDS OF YOUNG GIRLS RUN THESE DAYS......THEY WANT MARRIED MEN BECAUSE THEY FEEL HE WILL GIVE THEM SPACE (USUALLY TO DATE THEIR SINGLE BOYFRINEDS)....MONEY....A GOOD TIME WITHOUT COMMITTMENT (INCLUDING TRAVELLING ABROAD)....AND NO WAHALA....TIMES HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY OH....THEY EVEN BOAST ABOUT IT...
